Acceptance of these Terms
These Terms of Use (the “Terms”) are a binding agreement between you and SCOPE Readiness Group LLC, an Oklahoma limited liability company (“SCOPE,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), governing your access to and use of the SCOPE website, the member portal, the online training academy, the community media feed, the events and job-board surfaces, and any related service we make available (together, the “Platform”).
By accessing or using any part of the Platform, by creating an account, or by clicking to accept these Terms, you agree to be bound by them and by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated here by reference. If you do not agree, do not access or use the Platform.
If you use the Platform on behalf of an organization, you represent that you are authorized to bind that organization, and “you” includes that organization.
Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use the Platform. The Platform is intended for professionals, organizations, and verified members; it is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Some features require an account. When you register, you agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information and to keep it up to date. We may require you to verify your email address, and we may require credential or identity verification before granting access to certain member, instructor, or employer features.
When you hold an account, you agree that:
- you are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account and for keeping your sign-in credentials confidential;
- you will notify us promptly at info@srgokc.com if you suspect any unauthorized use of your account;
- you will not share, sell, or transfer your account, and you will maintain only one account unless we authorize otherwise; and
- we may suspend, restrict, or terminate an account, withhold or revoke verification, or change an account’s status at our discretion for any violation of these Terms or for lawful safety, security, or operational reasons.
Who SCOPE is — no professional advice or legal authority
SCOPE is a CLEET-licensed Oklahoma security and investigations practice that also operates an online platform for training, community, events, and professional opportunities. Descriptions of our services on the Platform are educational summaries; they do not by themselves create a client engagement. A formal engagement begins only when a separate written agreement is signed.
Content on the Platform is informational. It is not legal, investigative, security, financial, or other professional advice for any specific situation, and using the Platform does not create a professional-client or attorney-client relationship.
SCOPE is a private, lawful service provider. SCOPE is not law enforcement, holds no government authority, and does not act outside the scope of its license. Our licensure, credentials, and service area are limited to what we state in writing.
The Platform and member features
The Platform includes public marketing pages, a member portal and profile, the online training academy, a community media feed and related community surfaces, an events and calendar surface, and a job board. Availability of any feature depends on your account, role, and verification status, and some features are offered to verified members only.
We are continuously developing the Platform. Some features are live today, others are staged for a future release, and we may add, change, suspend, or remove any feature, content, or limit at any time without liability. Where a feature is not yet active, references to it in these Terms apply once it becomes available to you.
Acceptable use
You agree to use the Platform only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You are responsible for your conduct and for anything you submit, post, or transmit.
You will not, and will not attempt to:
- use the Platform to violate any law, regulation, professional standard, or third-party right;
- access, scrape, mirror, crawl, frame, or republish the Platform or its content without our written permission, or use bots or automated means except as we expressly allow;
- introduce malware, attempt unauthorized access to the Platform or other accounts, probe or test the security of the Platform, or interfere with or overload its operation;
- impersonate any person or entity, misrepresent your affiliation, or harvest or collect data about other users;
- reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code, except to the extent that restriction is prohibited by law; or
- circumvent any access control, rate limit, content filter, paywall, or feature restriction.
Community Guidelines (media feed and community features)
These Community Guidelines govern the media feed, comments, reactions, member profiles, messaging, groups, rooms, events discussion, and every other place where members interact on the Platform (together, the “Community”). They apply in addition to the rest of these Terms. The standard is simple: be professional, be respectful, be discreet, and protect the community.
The Community is a professional space for a security, investigations, and protective-services audience. Treat everything you post as visible to other members and, where a surface is public, to the public. Your display name, profile, presence, and the content you post may be seen by others.
You agree not to post, share, upload, message, or link to anything that:
- is unlawful, or that promotes, facilitates, or instructs others in unlawful activity, including unauthorized surveillance, stalking, hacking, or accessing protected records or devices without authority;
- harasses, threatens, bullies, intimidates, defames, or incites violence against any person or group, or constitutes hate speech or discrimination;
- reveals private, confidential, or sensitive information about any person without authorization, including “doxxing,” a subject’s personal data from a matter, case files, client information, protected health, financial, education, or telephone records, or law-enforcement-sensitive material;
- breaches a confidentiality, non-disclosure, professional, ethical, or licensing obligation, or discloses information about an active investigation, protective detail, or engagement;
- infringes intellectual property or publicity rights, or that you do not have the right to share;
- is sexually explicit, gratuitously violent, or otherwise obscene;
- is spam, a scam, a pyramid or referral scheme, deceptive advertising, or unsolicited solicitation; or
- impersonates another person, falsifies credentials or licensure, or spreads content you know to be false in a way that could harm others.
You also agree to:
- keep discussion professional and on-topic for a licensed security and investigations community;
- respect confidentiality and the “need to know” — assume sensitive operational details do not belong in the feed;
- use real, accurate identity and credential information; and
- report content that violates these Guidelines using the in-product report tools rather than escalating it yourself.
We use automated filters (including a banned-terms filter) and human moderation. Posts and comments may be screened before or after they appear, may be held for review, and may be edited, hidden, or removed. We operate a moderation queue and may act on member reports. We may also let members block or mute one another where that feature is available.
Violations may result in content removal, loss of features, warnings, suspension, or permanent termination of your account, and, where appropriate, referral to a licensing body or law enforcement. We are not obligated to monitor the Community, but we may do so, and our decisions about content and accounts are at our discretion.
Your content and the license you grant
You retain ownership of the content you submit, post, or display on the Platform (“User Content”). You are solely responsible for your User Content and for ensuring you have all rights and permissions necessary to share it.
You grant SCOPE a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable license to host, store, reproduce, display, adapt for formatting, distribute, and moderate your User Content for the purpose of operating, securing, promoting, and improving the Platform. This license continues for backup, legal, and moderation purposes after you remove content or close your account, to the extent copies remain in logs or are required by law.
You represent that your User Content does not violate these Terms or any law and does not infringe any third-party right. We may remove or restrict any User Content at any time. We are not responsible for User Content posted by others, and we do not endorse it.
Online training academy
The SCOPE online training academy (the “Academy”) offers courses and continuing-education content, including native lessons, hosted PDF materials, and SCORM packages. Courses may be free, available to members, or paid, and the access tier, price, format, and any continuing-education hours are shown on each course.
When you enroll in or take a course, you understand and agree that:
- you will complete coursework honestly and personally, and you will not share assessment answers, falsify progress, or let another person complete a course or assessment for you;
- a course is marked complete, and a certificate, continuing-education hours, or credit is issued, only when you meet the stated completion requirements, which for assessed courses include achieving the required passing score (a 75% threshold unless a course states otherwise);
- certificates and continuing-education hours are records of completion issued by SCOPE; retaking a course you have already completed does not earn a new certificate, new hours, or new credit until any applicable annual re-award period has passed; and
- course content, hours, and availability may change, and we may update, re-version, or retire a course.
You are responsible for confirming that any course, certificate, or continuing-education hours will be accepted by CLEET, a court, a bar, an employer, or any other body for your particular requirement before you rely on them. SCOPE does not guarantee that a third party will accept any credit, and SCOPE does not guarantee any licensing, certification, employment, or other outcome from completing a course.
Payments, credits, refunds, and billing disputes
Some courses, memberships, events, or other items on the Platform are paid. Prices are shown at the point of purchase in U.S. dollars and may change. You agree to pay all fees and applicable taxes for items you purchase, and you authorize us and our payment processor to charge your selected payment method.
Payments are processed by a third-party payment processor (for example, Stripe). We do not store full card numbers; the processor handles card data under its own terms and privacy policy. Invoices and receipts, where issued, are available in your portal. Any credits, balances, or continuing-education hours have no cash value, are non-transferable, and may expire or be adjusted as stated at purchase.
Refund policy for paid Academy courses and credits:
- you may request a full refund within fourteen (14) days of purchase only if you have not started or accessed the course content and no certificate, hours, or credit has been issued;
- once you access or begin a course, or once a certificate, continuing-education hours, or credit has been issued, the purchase is final and non-refundable;
- memberships and recurring charges, where offered, renew automatically until cancelled, and cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; fees already paid are not refunded except as required by law; and
- we may, at our discretion, issue a refund, credit, or replacement outside this policy, and doing so is not a waiver of the policy.
If you believe you were charged in error, contact us at info@srgokc.com before initiating a chargeback so we can resolve it. Filing a chargeback or payment dispute without first contacting us, or for a purchase that is non-refundable under this policy, may result in suspension of your account and loss of access to purchased content. Fees and any continuing-education hours tied to a reversed payment may be revoked.
Events — online and in person
The Platform lists SCOPE events, which may be in person, virtual, or hybrid, and which may be free or paid. Registering or RSVPing for an event does not guarantee a seat where capacity is limited, and we may waitlist, reschedule, relocate, change the format of, or cancel an event. Where an event is cancelled by SCOPE, any fee you paid for that event will be refunded.
You are responsible for your own conduct at events and agree to follow these Terms, the Community Guidelines, and any venue or host rules. We may remove or refuse entry to anyone who is disruptive, unsafe, or in violation of these Terms, without a refund.
For in-person events, you attend voluntarily and at your own risk. To the fullest extent permitted by law, you assume the risks of attending, including travel, the venue, and activities, and you release SCOPE from liability for injury, loss, or damage that is not caused by our gross negligence or willful misconduct. Events may be recorded or photographed; by attending you consent to appearing in such recordings and to our use of them to operate and promote the Platform.
Some events are continuing-education “live sessions” linked to a course; continuing-education hours for those events are earned only on verified attendance and are subject to the Academy and payment terms above.
Job board and opportunities
The job board lets verified members view listings and submit applications, and lets approved employers or SCOPE post opportunities. Listings and applications are provided as a convenience to connect the community.
SCOPE is not the employer for third-party listings, does not guarantee the accuracy of any listing or application, and does not guarantee that any application will result in an interview, assignment, or employment. You are responsible for verifying any opportunity and for your own hiring, contracting, licensing, and background-check obligations. Any engagement that results is solely between the parties to it.
Privacy and data
Our Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and share it, how long we keep it, and the choices and rights you have. By using the Platform you acknowledge the Privacy Policy.
Information you submit through contact or intake forms, or that you share in a confidential channel, is handled with discretion as described in the Privacy Policy. Do not post confidential, privileged, or sensitive matter information in the Community, where it may be visible to others.
Intellectual property
The Platform and its content — including the SCOPE name, logos, marks, design system, copy, photography, course materials, software, and code — are owned by SCOPE or its licensors and are protected by intellectual-property laws. Except for the limited rights expressly granted in these Terms, no rights are transferred to you.
We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the Platform and to view, download, and print content for your own lawful, non-commercial use. You will not remove or alter any copyright, trademark, or attribution notice, and you will not use our marks without written permission.
If you believe content on the Platform infringes your copyright, contact us at info@srgokc.com with enough detail to identify the work and the allegedly infringing material so we can review it.
Third-party links, services, and processors
The Platform relies on third-party providers to operate, including cloud hosting and infrastructure, a database and authentication provider, email delivery, and a payment processor. It may also link to third-party websites, social platforms, or tools. We do not control and are not responsible for the content, terms, or privacy practices of third parties, and your dealings with them are at your own risk.
Disclaimers
The Platform and all content, courses, certificates, hours, listings, and features are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, title, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or free of harmful components, that content is accurate or current, or that any investigative, advisory, security, training, certification, licensing, employment, or other outcome will be achieved. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions, so some of the above may not apply to you.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, SCOPE and its members, managers, employees, contractors, and licensors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising out of or relating to your use of, or inability to use, the Platform, even if advised of the possibility.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, SCOPE’s total liability for all claims relating to the Platform will not exceed the greater of (a) the total amount you paid SCOPE for the Platform in the twelve (12) months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) one hundred U.S. dollars (US$100). These limits apply regardless of the theory of liability and are an essential part of the agreement.
Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless SCOPE and its members, managers, employees, contractors, and licensors from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising out of or related to your use of the Platform, your User Content, your violation of these Terms or any law, or your violation of any third-party right.
Dispute resolution — binding arbitration and class-action waiver
Please read this section carefully. It affects your legal rights, including your right to go to court and to have a jury trial.
Informal resolution first. Before starting any formal proceeding, you agree to contact us at info@srgokc.com and try in good faith to resolve the dispute informally for at least thirty (30) days.
Binding arbitration. Except for the matters carved out below, you and SCOPE agree that any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Platform will be resolved by final and binding individual arbitration, rather than in court. Arbitration will be administered by a recognized arbitration provider under its consumer or commercial rules then in effect, and judgment on the award may be entered in any court of competent jurisdiction. The seat of arbitration is Oklahoma County, Oklahoma, unless the parties agree otherwise or the rules require a different location.
Class-action waiver and carve-outs:
- you and SCOPE agree to bring claims only in an individual capacity, and not as a plaintiff or class member in any purported class, collective, consolidated, or representative proceeding; the arbitrator may not consolidate more than one person’s claims;
- either party may bring an individual claim in small-claims court if it qualifies and stays there;
- either party may seek injunctive or equitable relief in court to protect intellectual-property or confidentiality rights; and
- you may opt out of this arbitration agreement by sending written notice to info@srgokc.com within thirty (30) days of first accepting these Terms; if you opt out, the “Governing law and venue” section applies to disputes instead.
If the class-action waiver is found unenforceable as to a particular claim, that claim will proceed in court, but the rest of this section still applies. This section survives termination of your relationship with SCOPE.
Governing law and venue
These Terms and any dispute are governed by the laws of the State of Oklahoma, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules, and by applicable federal law (including the Federal Arbitration Act for the arbitration section). For any matter not subject to arbitration, or if you have validly opted out of arbitration, you and SCOPE submit to the exclusive jurisdiction and venue of the state and federal courts located in Oklahoma County, Oklahoma.
Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Platform at any time and may close your account by contacting us. We may suspend, restrict, or terminate your access, remove content, or revoke verification or purchased access at any time for a violation of these Terms or for lawful safety, security, legal, or operational reasons, with or without notice.
On termination, your right to use the Platform ends. Sections that by their nature should survive — including User Content license, intellectual property, payment obligations, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, dispute resolution, and governing law — survive.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make a material change, we will update the “Effective” date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Changes are effective when posted unless stated otherwise.
Your continued use of the Platform after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms. If you do not agree to a change, stop using the Platform.
How to contact us
Questions about these Terms, legal notices, copyright concerns, arbitration opt-outs, and account requests can be sent to info@srgokc.com or through our contact page.
These Terms are a thorough draft prepared for the Platform and should be reviewed by qualified counsel before they are relied upon as final. They are not legal advice.
